2. Erling Haaland

Club: Red Bull Salzburg

Position: Forward

The Norwegian forward is undoubtedly the hottest prospect in Europe right now. Haaland has been in sensational form since establishing himself as a regular at the Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg.

Haaland first announced himself on the scene when he scored 4 goals in a league game for Molde in Norway at just 17 years of age. Earlier this summer the towering forward also netted an incredible nine times against Honduras in the U20 World Cup during Norway’s spectacular 12-0 win over their South American rivals.

Haaland has continued that incredible scoring spree at all levels this season. He currently has 26 goals in just 18 appearances in all competitions this season. His most impressive form has been that in the Champions League where the forward has found the net 7 times in 4 games.

The Norwegian is a true all round forward, his height and build makes him a fearsome and difficult presence meanwhile he also has great pace and an excellent first touch. His finishing instinct is uncanny and he has all the traits to got to the very top of football lore if he continues his spectacular run of form.

At just 19 years of age, he has all the top clubs in Europe vying for his services including Real Madrid, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig but a recent report by Marca via ESPN claims that Barcelona are also interested in the Norwegian forward.

With such potential and such fearsome ability and with Luis Suarez not getting any younger, Haaland would be the ideal signing for Barcelona. He could be the deputy for Suarez and slowly establish himself as a regular. The Catalans’ arch rivals have spent large sums on young players in the past such as Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior and are building a team for the future, it is about time Barcelona did the same.
