3. Finally clearing the deadwood

While it seems counter-productive to look forward to selling players, for Arsenal, it has been a long time coming. There are several players in the squad that simply shouldn’t be there and as an invincible, Freddie would have made a mental note of this.

I’m not here to name drop. You all know the players that should be doing better given their price tag and stature.

There are two ways in which Ljungberg can go about dealing with this problem if he is the manager come January. He can either outright sell them and obtain some worthwhile cash in doing so, which can easily be reinvested in the market with a fresh player.

Or, the most likely option is, Ljungberg can focus his training on those types of players. He can tailor specific drills in order to improve their main weaknesses, encourage them to stay later in sessions to improve their skills or simply, have regular meetings with them to check their progress.

Ljungberg has spent some time with the Arsenal youth academy, with his sole aim being to develop players. That said, he is the perfect man-manager for players that just need a kick in the right direction.
