CAM: Federico Bernardeschi 5/10

Every match Federico Bernardeschi starts looks more or less the same at this point. He works hard and tries to find opportunities to make an impact, but fails to really provide much to Juve. He just doesn’t seem like he can play at the level Juve needs as a trequartista right now. All things considered, his presence certainly wasn’t the most harmful inclusion in the starting lineup, but he also didn’t provide much of a positive influence. Juve needs Ramsey to be able to consistently start in this role or they need to start looking for somebody else to replace Bernardeschi here.

ST: Cristiano Ronaldo 6/10

Juventus had two strikers who played well in this match. Neither one was Cristiano Ronaldo. He once again looked lethargic and disinterested in the match, regardless of the fact that he scored a penalty that he didn’t even earn himself. That goal was really the only memorable bright spot of the match. On the other hand, it’s easy to remember him not giving a god enough effort to get to Higuain’s missed shot or blocking Dybala’s shot while standing offside. This match once again supported my belief that Ronaldo hasn’t been one of Juve’s 2 best strikers this season. I think it might be time for him to be moved to the bench for a couple of matches while he figures out whatever issues he is having right now.

ST: Gonzalo Higuain 7.5/10

Unlike Ronaldo, Higuain was one of the strikers who played well for Juve. In fact, he was one of Juve’s best players during the match. He should have ended up with at least one assist in the match, but Emre Can wasted a gift-wrapped opportunity in the first half. Higuain had a ton of energy in the match and was clearly Juve’s best chance to score until Dybala came on in the second half. I hope he gets rewarded with another start because Higuain was once again incredible against Sassuolo.
