Wolves break into the top five after beating Watford

Wolverhampton have been one of the most impressive teams in the Premier League this season and this was on display in their 3-2 victory over Manchester City last week. The Wolves did suffer a minimal defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, but they did well to perform at the same level as the defending European champions.

Watford look like a team that is on the rise and their confidence stems from their recent victories over Manchester United and Aston Villa. The relegation-threatened Hornets scored six goals in their last three games, but I think the fun will be temporarily halted on Wednesday. Wolverhampton have a chance to break into the top five with a win and I do not see them wasting that chance.

Prediction: Watford 0-2 Wolverhampton

Scoring woes continue for Aston Villa

Dean Smith got off to a fine start with Aston Villa in the opening weeks of the season, but the newly-promoted side have now lost five of their last six games and have only scored five goals in the process. The absence of John McGinn is quite noticeable in this squad as they lack creativity going forward.

Burnley, on the other hand, are a good team that struggle with consistency. Sean Dyche’s men have lost five of their last seven games, so they certainly have this game marked on their calendars as a winnable battle. Both teams are expected to play with urgency, but in the end they will share the spoils.

Prediction: Burnley 0-0 Aston Villa
