Tottenham Hotspur: Is Christian Eriksen heading to the Serie A?
Christian Eriksen transfer saga has taken yet another unexpected turn. Just like the Neymar saga, the Eriksen Saga is turning out to be one with unanticipated twists. The latest spin in the plot is that Christian Eriksen’s representatives have met Serie A giants Inter Milan.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter are highly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen. Inter’s directors have begun contacts with the agents of Eriksen. The representatives of both parties met to discuss a possible transfer in June. The Denmark international’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and there’s a herd of top clubs wanting to sign the gifted playmaker.
Eriksen has already been linked to Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United. Inter are latest to join the chase. Florentino Perez is adamant on bringing the Dane to Santiago Bernabeu, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes to add creativity in midfield in form of Christian Eriksen but at the moment of writing, Inter are said to be very close to the 27 year old.
The Nerazzurri wish to bring the Dane in summer 2020, once he becomes a free agent but the talks Spurs are expecting of a possible transfer in January. Daniel Levy knows he can’t persuade the Tottenham playmaker to stay in London, but he wishes to sell Eriksen rather than lose him after the expiration of his deal. The North London club is ready to accept any offer in the region of €20 million.

Antonio Conte’s Inter attempt to overthrow Juventus from the Serie A throne and in the process to do so they’ll need an A-grade squad. Despite housing some of the biggest names in Italy like Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez, Milan Skriniar and others, they still lack some experience and quality in certain areas.
The Nerazzurri acquired Nicolo Barella and Stefano Sensi, two revelations of Serie A, but these still lack some abilities to cut it at the top. Christian Eriksen’s addition could help Inter regain their lost name in Europe. Conte recently admitted that in spite of having a highly talented squad, the team lacks players with European experience which cost Inter a place in the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
The 27 year old could be the midfield talisman that Inter always dreamed of. A proven commodity in the most competitive league, Eriksen could be the key to Inter’s success. It remains to be seen whether the Danish midfielder agrees to transfer in January or sees out his remaining time at Spurs and moves in the summer.
