CB: Milan Skriniar 6/10

Milan Skriniar played fine throughout this match, but I’m always going to deduct points from players who do something unnecessary to hurt their team. Skriniar’s meaningless foul on a Napoli player who wasn’t in position to create a chance for his squad will now cost him his spot in the next match as he picked up a suspension for yellow card accumulation. That could be a big problem against a squad with as much attacking talent as Atalanta. If it proves costly, then it will make this foul look even worse for him.

CB: Stefan de Vrij 7/10

Stefan de Vrij was Inter’s best defender in this match. He made a few important tackles and plenty of clearances. He also avoided making any of the mistakes that dropped the grades of his fellow center backs. He is always reliable for this defense and that remained true against Napoli.

CB: Alessandro Bastoni 6.5/10

Alessandro Bastoni had a strong performance for most of this match. It was his side of the field where Jose Callejon was able to attack from when Bastoni, along with the rest of the defense, momentarily switched off. it’s hard to blame the center back for all of the space on the wing, but he should have been better positioned to cut off the cross. Outside of that, he put in a good effort on the defensive end and even nearly created a scoring opportunity of his own with a long run into Napoli’s territory. It looks like Inter Milan has another talented young center back on their roster.
