Sell Borja Valero

This one is somewhat related to a move I’ll discuss later. It has been heavily speculated that Inter Milan could be bringing in a world class midfielder this month as long as they can get out of their own way. If that move were to happen, it would make Borja Valero’s presence on this roster extremely unnecessary. In fact, I’m not even really sure he’s needed even if they don’t make their big signing.

Valero has enjoyed a little bit of playing time this season because of the injury issues Inter’s midfield has suffered through this season. His appearances have still been irregular, but he’s at least been able to get on the field every once in a while. Now, Inter’s midfield is suddenly healthy and I don’t see any way that he finds playing time the rest of the season with this midfield at full strength.

I’m sure Inter wouldn’t get very much out of a return out of selling Valero at this stage in his career, but whatever they could get would at least be better than just letting him walk for nothing when his contract expires at the end of the season. Selling him now would also save Inter half of a year’s worth of Valero’s salary.

Having Valero wasting the end of his career not even being included in the squad for Inter just doesn’t do anybody any good. It is in the best interest of both sides here for Valero to be sold for a meager sum so he can find some minutes elsewhere.
