N’Golo Kante (5/10)

Kante seemed to be a bit unsure about his role in Lampard’s system once again. Despite Chelsea’s dominance, he lacked the quality on the ball to impact the game going forward. But he still made a couple of important interceptions to break Arsenal attacks.

The Frenchman then slipped at an unfortunate moment allowing Gabriel Martinelli to go through on goal and score for Arsenal. It proved to be a costly slip from Kante, as it gave Arsenal their equaliser and a much-needed confidence boost. He was brought off for Mason Mount soon after, as Lampard looked to add more creativity to Chelsea’s midfield.

Jorginho (7/10)

Jorginho was one of Chelsea’s best players tonight and put in another solid and tidy display in the heart of the midfield. He gave the home side the lead from the penalty spot. It was another well taken penalty by the Italian, right into the bottom corner, leaving Leno with absolutely no chance of saving it.

He also made some important tackles and interceptions to prevent Arsenal from creating too many chances.

Mateo Kovacic (5/10)

Kovacic was supposed to add creativity to Chelsea’s midfield, but didn’t do enough with the ball at his feet tonight. He worked hard, but lacked the quality to provide any spark to Chelsea’s attacking play. The Croatian international is normally a bigger threat from midfield, but wasn’t able to offer much going forward tonight.

Kovacic was the first Chelsea player to be hooked, with Ross Barkley coming on to replace him.
