Granit Xhaka – 7/10

Xhaka had to play as a left-back in the second half but it is not a position he is unfamiliar with. Indeed, the Switzerland international looked relatively comfortable in his switched position. He played a number of good through balls in the first half so he will be frustrated with his side’s attacking performance.

Mesut Ozil – 4/10

Showed his rough nature at times but overall, it was a disappointing and non-influential performance from Ozil. He was taken off in the second half with Willock coming on and it was the right decision from Arteta.

I’ve been an Ozil fan for a long time but he is starting to test my patience. It just seems like he plays three or four good matches per season. Arteta is giving him constant chances but perhaps his substitution tody suggests the boss is not going to keep being as kind.

Matteo Guendouzi – 6/10

Guendouzi was alright. No, I mean it, he was just alright. He didn’t do anything wrong but at the same time, he didn’t much to change the game. Players are entitled to the odd bad game but this is becoming a recurring theme for Guendouzi, unfortunately. Still, it’s not too late for Arteta to turn this form around.
