CM: Adrien Rabiot

It took a while for Adrien Rabiot to get himself into Juve’s starting lineup, but it hasn’t taken long at all for him to make sure he won’t be removed from it. The attack has looked so much better with him in the lineup than when Blaise Matuidi was starting. He might not be making flashy plays or racking up goals and assists, but his ability to at least advance the attack has been a large improvement for this squad. Hopefully Sarri is seeing this now too and never takes him out of the lineup against a team like Napoli again.

CM: Miralem Pjanic

Miralem Pjanic didn’t get much done with his passing on Saturday, but his shot from outside the box did draw the first penalty for Juventus. We still aren’t seeing the player we’ve been hoping for when Pjanic plays, but contributions like this help to make up for it. It also helps that Juventus doesn’t really have anybody ready to take his place. Juve will likely need better from him to break down the Verona defense and to make a deep run in the Champions League.

CM: Rodrigo Bentancur

Rodrigo Bentancur has impressed just about every time he has been on the field in 2020. His contributions from Saturday might not show up on the stat sheet, but he was an instrumental part of Juve’s win. He had a shot from outside of the box that required a fantastic save from Fiorentina, then he drew the penalty for Juve’s second goal. He was also strong on the defensive end and passed the ball well throughout the match. I’m ready to officially declare him Juve’s best midfielder.
