4. Shkodran Mustafi

Again, I never thought I’d be saying this. Is this real? Am I in a parallel realm? What year is it?

Shkodran Mustafi has turned into the defender Arsenal fans first thought he was when they signed him and long may it continue.

Against Olympiacos, he was bound to be nervy given their strength in attack but he prevailed and I expect him to get the start against his old club.

He will need to use his speed to cut out the pace that Everton have in the attack but he will be helped in this regard by the partner Arteta chooses for him.

5. Bernd Leno

The most important player on the pitch should always be the goalkeeper and Arsenal went without this luxury for many seasons.

However, since Bernd Leno’s arrival at the start of last season, he has become better and better by the match. He was exceptional against Olympiacos and he made sure that the Gunners kept that important away clean sheet so they can relax at the Emirates.

Leno will have a tough time keeping out Richarlison, who has been in great form lately. But he will take plenty of confidence following his three consecutive clean sheets recently.
