LW: Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has been on a historic run in Serie A over the last couple of months and now he gets to take his incredible form to his favorite competition. He has “only” scored 2 goals so far in 6 appearances in the Champions League this season, so he’s probably due for one of his yearly explosions in the competition. Last year it came in this round of the competition, so this could be the tie where he puts in his impressive European performance. It’s more likely to come in the

return leg, but I’m not ruling anything out with the way he’s playing right now. It would be nice for Juve to head back to Torino with a lead to protect, so let’s hope Ronaldo can continue to produce in this match.

ST: Paulo Dybala

I was worried about how the change in formation would effect Paulo Dybala, but he seems to be dealing with shift just fine. After scoring in the first match in the new setup, Dybala provided a sublime assist to Aaron Ramsey in the second. Dybala was Juve’s best player in the group stage this season and even single-handedly won them one of those group stage matches. If he looks like even close to the same player in the knockout stages, he’s going to be a nightmare alongside Ronaldo’s current form. Don’t be surprised if Dybala comes up big yet again in this match.

Tottenham must commit to 4-3-3 formation. dark. Next

RW: Juan Cuadrado

I’ve made my opposition to Juan Cuadrado’s spot in the starting lineup known, but he keeps proving me wrong. Over the weekend, he assisted Ronaldo’s goal and nearly scored one of his own. I’m still not sure that this is the best way for Juve to lineup against Europe’s best teams, but so far it hasn’t looked any worse than the 4-3-1-2. If Cuadrado can keep up his high level of play on the road against a Champions League opponent then I might need to change the way I look at this squad.
