Erik Lamela (5/10)

Lamela ran his socks off for his side, but lacked the sharpness or quality to cause any problems to Leipzig’s back three. He showed some promise, but never really looked like scoring or creating any chances for his teammates. Lamela’s performance tonight proved once again why he shouldn’t be a regular starter for Tottenham.

Lucas Moura (5.5/10)

Like Lamela and Alli, Lucas struggled to get involved in the game, but it wasn’t for the lack of trying. The Brazilian winger worked hard and showed great commitment, but lacked the end product to get Spurs back into the game. He did create his side’s best chance of the game in the second half, but Dele Alli wasn’t able to turn his low cross into the back of the net.

Dele Alli (6/10)

Alli cut a forlorn figure for large parts of the game, as he was given the unenviable task of playing in the number nine role in the absence of Harry Kane. He was forced to feed off scraps for the majority of the game but fought hard for the team. He had Tottenham’s best chance of pulling a goal back in the second half, but placed his shot straight at the Leipzig goalkeeper.
