3. Willian (Chelsea)

Willian is a rather controversial one. Signing a free player from Chelsea has been Arsenal’s go-to in recent seasons, which can be taken one of two ways. It seems to be working for David Luiz and it worked for Petr Cech, on the most-part.

I personally don’t think the signing of Willian would benefit Arsenal massively. However, if it were to happen, who would I be to complain?

Willian will be available to discuss contracts ahead of a move in the summer and he’s linked with a number of different clubs, including Tottenham and, obviously, Manchester United. Consequently, Arsenal is going to have to act quickly, which has never really been part of their DNA.

Willian, when he wants to be, is an absolute nightmare to defend against. Arsenal fans know this all too well. However, the problem is with his inconsistency and age. He would be 32 by the time next season comes around, so he would be a short-term option for Arsenal.

Although, the Gunners would be getting a talented player, from their rivals, for free. That is the essence of this transfer and although there are cons, I can definitely understand why the board would want to pounce on his situation. I mean, who wouldn’t?

Next. Arsenal should use Lacazette as part of Partey deal. dark
