Real Madrid are reportedly ready to move on from their star winger this summer, and this decision will be music to the ears of Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are in a two-horse for the La Liga title as they enjoy eleven and nine point gaps over third-placed Sevilla. The Spanish giants continue to trade places at the top of the table, and that is why Zinedine Zidane wants to mitigate the number of distractions surrounding his squad.

Los Blancos are often linked to a wide range of star players across Europe’s top leagues, but it looks like the club’s executives have finally made a bold decision regarding player departures.

According to a new report from Spanish outlet Marca, Zidane has made it clear that Gareth Bale will not be a part of his plans next season.

More from Real Madrid

The tenuous relationship between Zidane and Bale has been there for all to witness for quite some time now, but it looks like Bale’s days in Madrid are finally numbered.

The interesting information that was included in the report, however, claims that Real Madrid are willing to let the Welsh international leave for free.

Real Madrid purchased Bale in 2013 for an astonishing fee of £85.3m, and now they are willing to take a massive loss on his departure. The report goes on to say that the primary reason for this bold decision from Real Madrid stems from the fact that every interested club took a few steps back over Bale’s weekly salary, which is £350,000.

This news out of Madrid has raised eyebrows in North London and in Manchester as Tottenham and Manchester United are reported to be the two English clubs most interested in securing Bale’s services.

Bale spent six seasons at White Hart Lane and he has a close relationship with the club and its fans. Of all the major clubs in the Premier League, Tottenham has been going through the roughest time, mainly because they lost Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min to injuries, and Christian Eriksen left for Inter Milan.

Jose Mourinho is desperate for new talent to walk through the doors this summer and Bale presents him with all the attributes he is looking for in an attacking player. Manchester United are also interested in Bale, and the Welshman would undoubtedly be a crucial player with regular minutes in that squad.

It will be interesting to see how this transfer saga plays out. One can assume that new clubs will join the race for Bale after this shocking news. Do you think Bale will finally make his return to the Premier League this summer? Let us know in the comments section below!
