2. Jesse Lingard

When given the choice between Carlos Soler and Jesse Lingard, I’m sure you can guess who I’d pick. Hint: It’s not Lingard.

Although, I must include him since he is an option. According to the incredibly reliable Athletic, the Arsenal hierarchy is not ruling out the possibility of signing Jesse Lingard from Manchester United.

The England international has been out of form ever since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer became manager and unsurprisingly, he doesn’t seem to be in the long-term plans at Old Trafford. He ages at 27 years old, which means he should be entering the prime stages of his career which is positive for the Gunners, however, they should be setting their aims higher.

Lingard has not managed a league goal or assist in over a year so there are question marks raised over whether or not he is the man that can improve Arsenal. The good news is, though, he will probably come at a much cheaper price than Soler which would appease the bargain-finding board.

Lingard would not improve the Arsenal team in any way, shape or form. However, he is an option at this point in time. Let’s hope he isn’t for much longer.

Onto the final option.
