Bartosz Bida is certainly one to watch.

Bartosz Bida of Jagiellonia Bialystok is one of the next big talents from the Polish Ekstraklasa that clubs around the world will be looking at to fill their needs at the striker position.

The world of football is currently blessed with an unending reservoir of young talent that academies around the world seem to be producing in an almost conveyor-belt like fashion. Never before has the standard and level of football in leagues around the world been so high, and in many cases these youth players are being given chances that in the past may have been few and far between.

Youth talents are also becoming ever more important as the landscape of the transfer market continues to grow and change. Big money transfers and high player valuations continue to see top talent become more and more out of reach for clubs around the world. Couple that with the effect the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the football world, and you have the perfect conditions for clubs to not only continue the trend of relying on youth, but also intensify their search for the next diamond in the rough; the next superstar.

Luckily for those clubs, the vast reservoir of youth is ready to be tapped into. In this edition of Europe’s Hidden Gems, we’re going to stick with our exploration of the Polish Ekstraklasa, but this time, we’ll be looking at a talent who plays a bit farther up the pitch than Michał Karbownik.

Throughout Poland’s vast footballing history, it is safe to say that they have excelled at producing high caliber forwards and attackers that have found themselves at some of Europe’s top clubs. From the days of Zbigniew Boniek and Kazimierz Deyna in the 70’s and 80’s to modern day forwards such as Robert Lewandowski and Arkadiusz Milik, Poland has had a keen eye when it comes to offensive talent. Following in their footsteps, the Ekstraklasa has once again produced players that, in my view, will very soon be names of similar caliber to the greats that came before them. One of these players is Bartosz Bida.
