Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has formed a recruitment policy at Manchester United.

Alexis Sanchez, Angel Di Maria, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Radmael Falcao, and the array could go on, underscores the aimless recruitment of Manchester United since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson and David Gill.

Galactico model, which has backfired for Red Devils to such precarious extent that even after a seven-year of the rebuild process, the club, still has substantial ground to cover before challenging for elite trophies.

However, the situation has improved since last summer, at least signing wise, where a few more decisive actions in the transfer market could ensure a significant forward leap in standards. But, the biggest criticism here remains that it took more than 10 windows to construct a sustaining recruitment policy.

More from Manchester United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer deserves adulation for how he has formed a strategy of signing players who have room for improvement and are a perfect fit to perform in the system that United management seek to implement at the Theatre of Dreams.

Currently, the club insiders have adopted a clear strategy of making an optimum number of background checks and scouring information about players’ mental aspects via coaches or scout reports. Solskjaer has sought inputs from the likes of Ryan Giggs, Mike Phelan, and Cristiano Ronaldo for his acquisitions.

This job, where extracting minutest of details to gauge the player’s capability to perform in front of a demanding Old Trafford crowd, of course, is a demanding one. Current transfer committee has, to an extent, transformed the way Red Devils attain their targets in the market.

United’s recent transfer success rate has subsided the need of a director of football/ technical director. However, to save the football manager from being overloaded with responsibilities, a member who could assist in shortlisting the transfer targets is imperative in a contemporary football hierarchy.

With transfer season fast approaching, once again. Manchester United seem to have reignited their interest in adding a transfer advisor in their current committee, constituting of data analysts, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Mike Phelan, and chief scouts.

Notwithstanding the recent signings, an addition of an expert recruitment advisor is a welcome sign as the club is taking correct steps to embellish the union which has a direction and purpose, now. Additionally, a sound transfer committee could also help in making sound player sales.

Also, Solskjaer could do with a figure who would bring his own contact book and the only factor here is finding the right figure who could fuse in the vision of Manchester United’s current objectives. Andrea Berta, Antero Henrique, and Fabio Paratici have been linked with the position which would be in a first for the Red Devils.

Empowering the transfer structure in a period where money and convincing the players to pursue one’s project are crucial factors, could be one of the decisive steps for Man United, in recent times.
