The Arsenal forward has one condition before he signs.

If it feels to you like the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang situation is dragging out for centuries, then you’re not alone. However, the good news is that there is a greater feeling about the Arsenal striker in recent days, largely due to his involvement in winning the FA Cup for the club on Saturday.

Aubameyang’s contract at the Emirates Stadium runs out next summer, but given Arsenal’s recent history of losing their best players for free, they will want to secure his future as soon and smoothly as possible.

It’s thought that the Gunners will receive help on that end, since Aubameyang seems to want to stay. However, like any top player, he has laid down one condition. Luckily for the fans, it’s a condition which can be fulfilled, if the board decide to pull their finger out.

According to the Metro, Aubameyang has said that he wants to see Arsenal make some big signings before he signs a contract extension. This is fair enough, since he would obviously want proof that the board are on the same wavelength as Mikel Arteta before he commits his future to this project.

Luckily for Arsenal, they do have some opportunities to sign some top players. A recent report claimed that they had been offered the chance to sign Philippe Coutinho by giving up Matteo Guendouzi and a small sum of cash, which is definitely a good deal and would show Aubameyang they are heading in the right direction.

Signing a quality midfielder like Coutinho and investing in a centre back will be the perfect transfer window for the Gunners. It would give Aubameyang the message that the board are backing Arteta, which was not so much the case under Arsene Wenger or Unai Emery.
