Arsenal are certainly prepared…
Within only a day of news breaking on Mesut Ozil, Arsenal are already being linked with a like-minded player. In case you missed it, the Gunners midfielder appears to have agreed a deal with Fenerbahce and will join them when the season comes to an end.
According to a new report from The Sun, the Gunners are looking to capitalise on Emi Buendia‘s desire to play in the Premier League again. Having had his first taste of the English top flight last season, he now finds himself in the second tier of English football still with Norwich.
Buendia was one of the better players in the bottom half of the EPL last season, as he consistently put in fine performance for the Canaries. That said, you can understand why he is looking for top-flight football; he is certainly deserving of it.

The reason why the timing of the Ozil situation is so significant, is because Buendia could replace his qualities. The Argentina-born midfielder likes to play in the final third and provide creativity to his teammates, helped by the flair he possesses on the ball.
Of course, Arsenal do not need to put all their eggs into this basket. After all, they have been pleasently surprised with the performances of Emile Smith Rowe since his return from injury. Providing he remains fit, he could quite easily play the creative role in the midfield, as performances look much better with him on the pitch lately.
Similarly, Arsenal have options elsewhere. According to the Daily Mail, they are looking into a January swoop for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma, who is a fan of the Gunners and has previously formed a good relationship with new signing Gabriel Magalhaes.
Do you think Arsenal will sign anyone to replace Mesut Ozil this January?
