Barcelona is not only back in the La Liga title race in 2025, but it's running roughshod over anyone in its path. A dominant 4-1 win over Sevilla saw Hansi Flick's squad reach 48 points, just two behind Real Madrid, to set the Spanish title race alight.

What's really incredible is not the position in the standings. Barcelona is breaking goal-scoring records, producing an offensive explosion that hasn't been seen in over 80 years. They have scored 41 goals in only 11 official matches, or nearly four per game.
And the best part? They haven't lost in 2025. Since January 1st, they've racked up nine wins and two draws. This Barcelona isn't just good, but ruthless and dominant, and looks ready for anyone.
Hansi Flick has cracked the code for goals
Since Hansi Flick arrived in Barcelona, this team has become an attacking monster. He fabricated a German-style attack, which never stops. Having scored 113 goals this season, they've already taken their goal tally of last season-which at the time was 110-although it took them 17 more games to reach. With this pace, the Catalans may well finish with one of the best season-long totals taken in club history.
It's not about the numbers only, but this team plays with surgical precision, moving in sync, like a well-oiled machine where every piece clicks into place, and the goals come along with shocking ease.
Unstoppable trio leading Barcelona's attack

Only then can a team reach such astronomical numbers, which means they had forwards who knew how to provide. At the moment, Barcelona has three deadly weapons spearheading the attack, namely:
- Robert Lewandowski: 31 goals
- Raphinha: 24 goals
- Lamine Yamal: 11 goals
Lewandowski was still the ruthless finisher, and under Flick, the Polish striker appeared to have taken on a new lease of life, continuing to be the team's offensive backbone.
Raphinha, meanwhile, proved an important piece because he had earned speed, creativity, and the killer instinct in front of the goal. Then there is Lamine Yamal, who is just 17 years old and has proven that he already carries maturity and talent for a future superstar in the making.
This trio has been the driving force behind Barcelona's goal-scoring rampage. And with the midfield clicking into place, there's no sign of them slowing down anytime soon.
Barcelona controls its own destiny in La Liga

Beating Sevilla solidified a critical fact: Barcelona's fate is in its own hands. The team still has two key matchups-on March 16 against Atlético Madrid and on May 11 against Real Madrid-that could determine the title. But Flick is not looking at the competition.
"We're in a good position. We don't worry about others. We have to do our job, and we did that against Sevilla," said German coach Flick.
Well and truly brimming with confidence, the squad knows they're running things, most of all understand that everything depended on themselves now.
Breaking records and bringing thoughts back to Messi-Neymar-Suárez
And whenever a record-breaking Barcelona starts doing so, one can be forgiven for throwing the mind deep back into comparing that era's trio: Messi, Neymar, and Suarez.
In the 2014/15 season, the MSN trio collectively scored 122 goals in all competitions, whereas a decade later, Flick's Barcelona has already registered 113 goals in 36 games.
This way, they might even outshine the legendary numbers of MSN. But there lies a huge difference in that this team does not depend on only three superstars but functions as a complete attacking unit in which any player can come forward and take over the mantle.

Mental toughness, overcoming adversity: Barcelona did not demolish Sevilla, however; this time it proved itself to be that resilient team.
They played more than half the game with just 10 players after Fermín was red carded. The team remained firm and was well in control. They scored for most parts.
For Flick, this proved to be one of those precious learning moments: "Playing with 10 men is different, and we handled it really well. Fermín was disappointed with the red card, but he had already scored a key goal. These things happen, and it's a valuable lesson on how to play in a 4-4-1 setup and defend effectively," he explained.
Strategic rest before the final push
Flick knows this level can only be sustained with intelligent squad management.
He gave his players three days off after the win over Sevilla as a reward for their tireless efforts. The next game isn't until next week against Rayo Vallecano, meaning some vital time to rest and prepare.
"There's still a long way to go and plenty of games left," Flick said, keeping a lid on things.
