Brazil are unbeaten in seven meetings with Bolivia, winning six of them, scoring 26 goals across these victories, looking to win back-to-back World Cup qualifiers in Bolivia for the first time in 40 years.

Bolivia vs Brazil preview

Will Brazil conclude World Cup qualification with a victory? On Thursday night, Carlo Ancelotti's team demolished Chile 3-0 at the Maracanã, thanks to goals from a trio of Premier League-based players, namely Estêvão Willian, Lucas Paquetá and then Bruno Guimarães. The Seleção have endured a turbulent three years, going through three managers since the last World Cup before Ancelotti's arrival in June. Now though, the five-times world champions will go into next summer's tournament with a sense of positivity, so can they win their final competitive fixture before the big kick off?

As for Bolivia, while this game is essentially meaningless for the visitors, it could mean everything for them. La Verde have only ever featured at three World Cups, these coming in 1930, 1950 and 1994, but they could be back in the USA next summer. Having won five qualifiers so far, their highest tally for over 30 years, Óscar Villegas' sit eighth, one point below Venezuela, the current occupants of the all important inter-confederation play-off spot. So, should Venezuela fail to beat Colombia in Maturín simultaneously, Bolivia would sneak into next March's play-offs at their expense with a victory here.

This match will take place at Estadio Municipal de El Alto, which is located 4,088 meters, or 13,412 feet, above sea level, making the conditions difficult for visiting teams to say the least. So, can Bolivia make their true home field advantage count, and hope for a favour from elsewhere?

Bolivia team news

Lucas Chávez's red card against Chile in June means he is suspended.

Goalkeeper Carlos Lampe will earn his 60th cap, while this team have certainly found goals hard to come by, since the retirement of record appearance maker and goalscorer Marcelo Moreno in 2023.

Bolivia predicted lineup vs Brazil: (4-3-3): Lampe; Medina, Morales, Haquín, Sagredo; Vaca, Villarroel, Robson Matheus; Paniagua, Fernández, Miguelito.

Bolivia player to watch vs Brazil

Miguelito is the leading scorer in the squad with just seven international goals, all of which have come since June 2024, so could the Santos man be the hero in El Alto?

Brazil team news

With nothing to play for, Carlo Ancelotti could experiment and heavily rotate for this one.

Vinícius Júnior can return, having been suspended against Chile last week, but none of Éder Militão, Joelinton, Matheus Cunha, Rodrygo, Antony nor Neymar are in the squad.

Lucas Paquetá's goal off the bench against Chile could earn him a start, with Alexsandro, Andrey Sanots and Richarlison also hoping to come in.

Brazil predicted lineup vs Bolivia: (4-3-3): Alisson; Wesley, Marquinhos, Alexsandro, Santos; Casemiro, Guimarães, Paquetá; Raphinha, Vinícius, João Pedro.

Brazil player to watch vs Bolivia

Raphinha has scored 35 goals for Barcelona since the start of last season, but has only ever netted 11 times for Brazil, one of which came when Bolivia visited the Mangueirão two years ago, so can he add to his tally at Estadio Municipal de El Alto?

Bolivia vs Brazil prediction

Given the ludicrous altitude, this game is tough to call. Bolivia are imperious on home turf, but we do not think they'll get the win they need to keep their play-off hopes alive: Bolivia 1-1 Brazil.
