Canada have never beaten Ecuador in three previous attempts, albeit their most-recent encounter was a friendly at BMO Field in June 2011, finishing 2-2.
Canada vs Ecuador preview
After a mixed October international break, can Canada get back to winning ways in front of a home crowd? Last month, les Rouges were beaten 1-0 by Australia in Montréal, before holding Colombia to a goalless draw in New Jersey. The latter is certainly an encouraging result, but Jesse Marsch will want to see his side start scoring goals again and get back to winning ways in this month's friendlies.

Back in September, the Canucks enjoyed back-to-back memorable victories in Europe, hammering Romania 3-0 at Arena Națională, before a 1-0 victory over Wales in Swansea. Rangers centre-back Derek Cornelius scoring a stunning free-kick in the latter. On Tuesday, Canada will make the long journey to Florida to take on Venezuela in Fort Lauderdale but, before then, backed by a raucous home crowd at BMO Field, can they claim a memorable friendly victory in Ontario?
Ecuador meantime are also preparing for next summer's World Cup, at which they may well be dark horses. Sebastián Beccacece's side finished second in CONMEBOL qualifying, memorably beating Argentina 1-0 in Guayaquil to conclude the campaign in September. Most notably, la Tricolor conceded only five goals across 18 fixtures, equalling the all-time South American record, albeit eight of these finished goalless, underlining that they are certainly a tough nut to crack.

Last month, in a pair of friendlies, Ecuador drew 1-1 with the other two World Cup co-hosts. Enner Valencia broke the deadlock against the United States in Austin, before Jordy Alcívar equalised from the penalty spot to secure a draw with Mexico in Guadalajara. Also facing New Zealand at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison on Tuesday, Beccacece will be targeting back-to-back wins this week.

Canada team news
Jesse Marsch is without key defenders Alistair Johnston, Moïse Bombito and Alphonso Davies due to injury, while winger Jacob Shaffelburg is also sidelined.

In attack though, he has plenty of options, with Promise David, Tani Oluwaseyi and Cyle Larin all battling for minutes up front.
Canada predicted lineup vs Ecuador: (4-3-3): St. Clair; Sigur, Cornelius, Miller, Laryea; Koné, Eustáquio, Buchanan, Ahmed; P David, J David.
Canada player to watch vs Ecuador
Jonathan David is Canada's all-time leading scorer, taking his tally to 37 for the Canucks against Romania at Arena Națională in September, so will he further improve this figure in Toronto?
Ecuador team news
Sebastián Beccacece's side are missing star left-back Pervis Estupiñán due to injury but Moisés Caicedo of Chelsea is back, after sitting out the October window due to injury.

Arsenal's Piero Hincapié and William Pacho of PSG are key members of Ecuador's defence, while 18 year old Kendry Páez, on loan at Strasbourg from Chelsea, is very highly rated.
Ecuador predicted lineup vs Canada: (4-3-3): Galíndez; Preciado, Ordóñez, Pacho, Hincapié; Caicedo, Alcívar, Franco, Páez, Medina; Valencia.
Ecuador player to watch vs Canada
Even at 36 years old, 12 years after he burst on the scene, Enner Valencia remains Ecuador's talisman. The captain has now scored 48 times for la Tri, six of which came during qualifying, also on target against USA last month, so will he net in Toronto?
Canada vs Ecuador prediction
This match is unlikely to be high-scoring because, well, Ecuador are involved, but we are backing Canada to claim a confidence-boosting draw at BMO Field on Thursday: Canada 1-1 Ecuador.
