Arsenal traveled to Selhurst Park and again showed that they are firm candidates for the Premier League title. With Mikel Arteta in command, the Gunners smashed Crystal Palace with a commanding 5-1 victory. In front was Gabriel Jesus, one of the standout performers in this game. In addition to sealing their third place in the table, London has once again proven it's prepared to fight for something more this season.

Comprehensive masterclass from the very first minute
From the very first moments, Arsenal made it clear who would dictate the pace. Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring just six minutes in, capitalizing on a cross from Bukayo Saka, who was marking his 250th appearance for the Gunners. It was the beginning of an offensive display that left Palace's defense with no answers. Despite Sarr's lonely equalizer from an isolated play, Arsenal continued being in an aggressive position, where Jesus struck again. That form cannot be further than questioned now for the Brazilian forward who came from scoring a hat-trick against the very same Crystal Palace days back.
Impact brought in Havertz and Rice
Kai Havertz started to shed off criticism finally since he joined the camp of the Gunners. Martinelli rounded off the scoring at home to Arsenal after the third goal was scored by Leandro Trossard close range after Gabriel Jesus struck the post. The main influence of Declan Rice, who was introduced during the second half, gave balance to the midfield in the last two goals he assisted: to Gabriel Martinelli for the fourth, and he scored the fifth with a clinical strike from the edge of the box. This match showcased the depth of Arteta’s squad. Even with injuries to Saka and Raheem, Arsenal kept up their intensity and made the most of their chances.
Arsenal’s consistency this season
The win lifted Arsenal to 33 points in third place, one back of Chelsea and three adrift of league leaders Liverpool. Additionally, Mikel Arteta's side entered the record books, as five goals in six different away matches in the same calendar year is a new Premier League record.
