Inter Milan are winless in four visits to Turin, winning only one of their last 15 trips to Allianz Stadium, albeit I Bianconeri are seeking back to back home wins over I Nerazzurri for the first time since 2020.

Juventus vs Inter Milan preview

These two are Serie A's most successful clubs, having won 36 Scudetti between them, with this the 254th edition of Italy's biggest rivalry the Derby d'Italia. During the 2010s, Juventus won an unprecedented nine consecutive Serie A titles, but they have not been champions since 2020, finishing as low as seventh in 2023, scraping into the top four on the final day of last season.

Thus, very little was expected of them this time round, with the Vecchia Signora board seemingly reluctantly keeping Igor Tudor as manager, following their round of 16 exit at the Club World Cup at the hands of Real Madrid. Nevertheless, so far this season, Juve have maximum points on the board. I Bianconeri beat Parma 2-0 on Serie A's opening weekend, before battling to a 1-0 victory over Genoa at Stadio Luigi Ferraris before the international break; Dušan Vlahović scoring in both. So, in their first tough test of the season, can Juventus claim a statement victory over many people's title favourites?

As for Internazionale Milano, it is the start of a new era for them, given that Simone Inzaghi, who'd been in charge for four seasons, resigned immediately after their humiliating 5-0 humbling in the Champions League Final. Rookie Cristian Chivu, who'd only ever had 13 matches in charge of Parma, took over ahead of the Club World Cup, at which, like their historic rivals, they crashed out in the round of 16, dumped out by Fluminense in North Carolina.

The start to the new Serie A season has been, at best, mixed for I Nerazzurri. On the opening weekend, Inter really flexed their muscles, demolishing Torino 5-0 at San Siro, with Marcus Thuram scoring a brace. However, last time out, Il Biscione were beaten 2-1 by Udinese at home, that's despite taking the lead through Denzel Dumfries. Many were predicting that Inter would be the main challengers to Napoli's Scudetto this season, but that defeat does sound some alarm bells. Thus, who will win this fascinating Derby d'Italia in Turin on Saturday evening?

Igor Tudor will stick with the back three, featuring Khéphren Thuram alongside Manuel Locatelli, chosen over Weston McKennie, who did not go away with the United States during the break.

In attack, having scored off the bench during both Serie A matches so far, also netting against Latvia last weekend, has Dušan Vlahović done enough to earn a spot back in the starting lineup?

Juventus predicted lineup vs Inter Milan: (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Gatti, Bremer, Kelly; Kalulu, Thuram, Locatelli, João Mário; Koopmeiners, Yıldız, David.

The reason Vlahović isn't first choice right now is the arrival of Jonathan David, who marked his home debut with a goal on the opening weekend, so could the Canadian be the hero here too?

Cristian Chivu has also stuck with the back three shape ingrained by Simone Inzaghi, featuring Federico Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries as flying full-backs.

Meantime, summer signing Petar Sučić could keep his place as part of the midfield trio, chosen over Henrikh Mkhitaryan, while striker Marcus Thuram's father Lilian made over 200 appearances for Juve, winning two Scudetti, so split loyalties for him. Lastly, Manuel Akanji could debut, having joined from Manchester City on deadline day, initially on loan but with an option to buy.

Inter Milan predicted lineup vs Juventus: (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Sučić, Çalhanoğlu, Barella; Dimarco; Thuram, Martínez.

Captain Lautaro Martínez has only ever scored four goals in 20 appearances against Juventus, only one of which has come in Turin, so can he improve that ratio at Allianz Stadium on Saturday?

Juventus vs Inter Milan prediction

So early in the season, it's very difficult to know exactly how strong both sides will be, so we're sitting on the fence and predicting a low-scoring draw from the Derby d'Italia: Juventus 1-1 Inter Milan.
