LAFC acted expeditiously and decisively. The club announced the signing, as a new Designated Player, of Javairô Dilrosun, loaned from Club América through July 24, 2025. The transfer occurred in FIFA's special transfer window, so the forward is eligible to be included in the squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
Given that Cengiz Ünder is back with Fenerbahçe, Dilrosun steps in directly in his place. This signing is a sign of a determined, well-organized, and ambitious club.
Dilrosun, at the age of 26, already has what so many others dream of. He has come through top-level youth systems like Ajax and Manchester City, played top-level European competitions, and recently played in the Mexican league. With Club América, he guided the team to two league championships in 2024 as well as to the finals of the Clausura 2025. He also had a solid Supercopa MX in 2024, in which he netted a game-winning goal against Tigres.
The LAFC debut in the Club World Cup is already on the calendar. They face Chelsea on June 16. Next, they have ES Tunis on June 20, with a match against Flamengo on June 24. The top two in the group move through to the round of 16. It is a big order, but the signing of Dilrosun is a welcome infusion to a fine roster that includes Olivier Giroud and Denis Bouanga.
The LAFC general manager and co-president, John Thorrington, stated his club had been following Dilrosun for some time. The forward, he added, was a player they had knowledge of and who had already shown quality in some of the best competitions in the world.
Javairô is a player we're familiar with and who has proved his quality by competing in some of the biggest games in the world. We're excited to sign a quality player like Javairô as we prepare to take on the unique challenge of competing in the Club World Cup.
Dilrosun's experience
Dilrosun has played for professional teams in a total of 199 matches, netting 19 goals and delivering 33 assists. His statistics hold a tale, not a number. They relate the tale of a player who has played for prestigious soccer clubs in Europe and Latin America. They encompass his performance in Germany for Hertha Berlin, in France for Bordeaux, in the Netherlands for Feyenoord, and in Mexico for América.
