Robert Lewandowski found the net again on a Champions League night and, in doing so, moved his name even closer to two historic benchmarks of the competition. His goal in Barcelona’s 4–2 away win over Slavia Prague extended an individual run that has now been active for more than a decade in the tournament. Lewandowski has now scored against 39 different opponents in the Champions League, moving past Cristiano Ronaldo and sitting just one behind Lionel Messi.

Lewandowski enters an exclusive Champions League list

With the goal at Eden Arena, Lewandowski overtook Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored against 38 different teams in the competition. Messi leads the ranking with 40. Against Copenhagen in the final round of the league phase, the Barcelona forward will have the chance to draw level with the Argentine. The stat carries extra weight given that Lewandowski built this mark while playing for different clubs over his career, starting at Borussia Dortmund, then Bayern Munich, and now Barcelona.

The goal against Slavia also pushed Lewandowski to 20 goals in European competitions for Barcelona. He had already reached double figures last season and has now gone beyond that threshold, joining a very limited group of players who have scored more than 20 Champions League goals for two different clubs. Before him, only Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, and Neymar had managed the feat.

A long and consistent run in the competition

Another relevant detail is consistency. Lewandowski has scored in his 15th consecutive Champions League season. Cristiano Ronaldo managed goals in 16 straight editions, while Messi and Benzema top that list with 18. The Polish forward scored his first goal in the competition back in 2011, when he was still playing for Borussia Dortmund, and has since maintained a steady presence on the scoresheet across different teams and situations.

Adding up all his goals in UEFA competitions, Lewandowski has reached 114, placing him third on the all-time list, behind only Messi with 132 and Cristiano Ronaldo with 145. The gap remains significant, but the numbers show he’s still operating at a level reserved for very few.
