Highly skilled Alisson Becker, keeper for both Liverpool and the Brazilian national team, is in the sights of one of the giants of Europe: Bayern Munich. Per the British newspaper "The Sun," the German club has great interest in the Brazilian as the possible replacement for Manuel Neuer, who is 38 years old. A number of speculations have gone up, especially since Alisson is under contract with the Reds till 2026, on the Brazilian goalkeeper's situation and the probability of him leaving Liverpool.

Manuel Neuer is a living legend in football. He reinvented the goalkeeper role, playing aggressively outside the box and developing almost superhuman reflexes. But time takes its toll, and Neuer, who just turned 38, has been working his way through frequent injuries limiting him onto the field. Bayern, conscious of that reality, begins to look for alternatives, and he sees Alisson as the replacement.

Bayern's current coach and former Manchester City player Vincent Kompany is an enormous admirer of the Brazilian. The boss has given the thumbs-up to the signing for his technical skills, leadership, and experience in top-level competitions. Having won the Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup with Liverpool, Alisson has the experience Bayern look for in a goalkeeper capable of taking on the responsibility at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Alisson and his relationship with Liverpool

Ever since his signing with the Reds back in 2018, Alisson has managed to nail his status as the favorite shot-stopper at the club. The undisputed starter started a total of 269 games under German tactician Jurgen Klopp and captured some big titles like the Champions League and the Premier League. His presence in goal finally gave Liverpool the stability they had been searching for year after year in the position.

Besides that, the relationship between Alisson and the Liverpool supporters was different. His passion during the game, combined with his spectacular saves and moments like the goal against West Bromwich in 2021, made him an idol for the Anfield stands. The connection to the club and the supporters is not something that happens overnight, and leaving Liverpool would be no easy decision.

The option, however, of going to Bayern Munich-one of the most important European clubs-may be rather enticing. A new challenge, with a team that has grown used to dominating at Bundesliga and fighting for the top in Champions League, would really make any player take their time.

Saudi soccer snubbed as Marmadashvili arrives

Recently, Alisson snubbed an exciting offer from Saudi soccer. This doesn't just reveal his commitment to European soccer, but also the will to keep on competing at a high level. Bayern's interest, therefore, comes at a very interesting time wherein Alisson decided to stay at the peak of world soccer and reject a lucrative contract in a less competitive market.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have already mapped out their future. The Reds have signed up Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Marmadashvili, who is due to join them next season. Alisson has a contract until 2026, but the signing of Marmadashvili means Liverpool is putting something in place for when a change in custodian may be needed.

This transfer could be seen from two standpoints: to keep healthy competition within the squad or in case Alisson actually leaves Anfield. And it's here that Bayern Munich comes into play as a valid option on the horizon for the Brazilian.

It is also a safe deal in the case of Bayern signing Alisson, because Neuer is close to retiring; with a goalkeeper like Alisson, Bayern maintains the high level of competitiveness at which the club has always had to be, both nationally and internationally.
