Spain were crowned EURO 2024 champions following a 2-1 win over England. But that wasn't the only silverware a trio of Spanish players took home.

Nico Williams, who scored the opener for Spain and had an outstanding tournament, was named the Player of the Match.

"Right now we are not really aware of what we've done. Every footballer dreams of a moment like this," Williams said. "This is for everybody who believed in me from the very beginning. I'm really happy because we've made history.

"I always try to do my best to help my team. It's true people are now getting to know me and have more respect for me; I appreciate that respect very much. I work every day to be one of the best in my position."

The Athletic Bilbao player ended EURO 2024 with two goals and one assist in six matches played.

The revelation of the tournament was Barcelona's Lamine Yamal. The Barcelona forward was named the Young Player of the Tournament.

Despite a tournament with a number of young players putting in good performances, there really was no other choice for the award than Yamal.

The recently turned 17-year-old finished with four assists, thhe most in EURO 2024. He also scored one of the goals of the tournament in Spain's 2-1 over France, becoming the youngest goalscorer in the process.

Everyone went on and on about his age but what he's doing at 16 and 17 is something special.

Last, but certainly not least, is Rodri who waws named the EURO 2024 Player of the Tournament.

Since Sergio Busquets, there is an argument to be made that Rodri has been the best holding midfielder in the world. He can do most of the things Busquets does but he also has goals in his locker.

"This is probably the best day of my career," Rodri said. "We are European champions, as difficult as that is. We have become Europe's most successful national team.

"We have made history, beating four former world champions in the process. We got through the toughest draw and it speaks for the mentality of the team."

Rodri may have only scored one goal during the tournament but it was a vital one as it was an equalizer against Georgia. Spain were the heavy favorites but found themselves down until Rodri scored. They went on to win 4-1 putting in one of the best performances up to that point.

Rodri was forced off at halftime due to an injury. But it goes to show the depth and understanding of the Spain team as a whole that Martin Zubimendi was able to come in and there was no noticeable dropoff.

All three can be considered deserved winners and it's further testament not only as to why Spain won EURO 2024 but why they were considered the best team of the tournament.
