This weekend brought plenty of Serie A action as teams will now look forward to their mid-week encounters this upcoming week.
Cesena 2 – 2 Empoli
Empoli scored two in the second half to tie up the game for good against Cesena. Empoli earned their first point of the season and are in a tie for last while Cesena earned their 4th point. They are currently in a 4-way tie for 8th.
AC Milan 0 – 1 Juventus
The next chapter of this legendary rivalry took place at the San Siro and Juventus came out on top with a 71st minute goal from Carlos Tevez. Milan stalls at 6 points and are in a tie for 4th while Juventus moves to 9 points and is in a tie for first.
Chievo 2 – 3 Parma
Coming off of a disappointing loss to Milan, Parma won with help from Antonio Cassano as he notched two goals in the winning effort. Chievo cut the lead to 1 in the 81st minute but could not come back. Parma earned their first win and moved into a tie with Chievo at 3 points for 12th. They are also joined by two other teams.
AS Roma 2 – 0 Cagliari
Roma had a 2-0 lead within the first fifteen minutes of the match and would hold that lead until the end. Roma has now won all three games and move into a tie with Juventus for first place in the league. Cagliari stalls at 1 point and is in the 3-way tie for last place.
Genoa 1 – 0 Lazio
Mauricio Pinillo scored the decisive goal in the 87th minute to give Genoa the wild win over Lazio. Stefan de Vrij received a double-yellow for Lazio just two minutes sooner and certainly played into the decisive goal. Genoa moves to four points and is involved in a 4-way tie for eighth while Lazio stalls at three points and is tied for 12th.
Sassuolo 0 – 0 Sampdoria
This game saw six extra minutes of injury time to try to get the deciding goal but it would never come. Sampdoria continues their strong start with five points in three matches and are currently in a tie for sixth. Sassuolo earned their second point of the season and are in a tie for 16th.

Atalanta 0 – 1 Fiorentina
Jasman Kurtic registered the lone goal of the game to give Fiorentina the road win. It was a big win for Fiorentina to get them up to 4 points now and in a tie with Atalanta and 2 other teams for 8th place.
Udinese 1 – 0 Napoli
Despite playing at home, Udinese’s win was still an upset over a very strong Napoli side. They now have six points and are tied with Milan for 4th place. Napoli have now lost two straight and are tied for 12th with three points.
Palermo 1 – 1 Inter Milan
The game was 1-0 in favor of Palermo just three minutes in but the game was 1-1 going into halftime. The game would finish that way as Palermo earned their second point and are tied for 16th place. Inter earned their 5th point of the season and are tied with Sampdoria for sixth place.
Torino 0 – 1 Verona
Torino had a golden opportunity to get the draw as they had a penalty kick in the 88th minute. Omar El Kadduori’s shot was blocked by the keeper and Verona picked up the road victory. Torino has now lost their last two and only have one point on the season. After tiebreakers, they stand in last place. Verona remains undefeated and now have seven points on the season. They are the sole owners of third place.
The 2014-15 Serie A season will start up again on Tuesday with Empoli hosting AC Milan.
