Toronto FC Homegrown forward Jordan Hamilton

The Reds were without Jozy Altidore for chunk of time this summer. While it was not ideal to be without the USMNT star, it did allow young Jordan Hamilton to showcase his skills with the first team. In just ten matches this season, he has three goals and an assist.

He earned a spot in the Chipotle Homegrown Game against the Mexico U-20 national team. Hamilton himself is only 20, but he has not only USL and MLS experience, but also in the Portuguese second division.

Altidore is back now, and that will surely limit Hamilton’s minutes at least some. But he has shown enough to stay in a consistent rotation, and has an opportunity to establish himself even more as goalscorer in Major League Soccer.

Surrounding by guys like Altidore, Michael Bradley, and Giovinco, Hamilton could become another household name with some important goals down the stretch as Toronto FC tries to hold onto their second seed, and possibly overtake NYCFC for East supremacy.
