1. Spain

Spain is at the top of the list of countries providing players to the EPL. There are currently 37 players from Spain on Premier League rosters.  This number has steadily been growing over the past decade.

Some speculate that this increase is due to the reverence bestowed on La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.  With fans admiring the Spanish style of play, many clubs have recruited Spanish players. The hope is that they will bring that flair seen in La Liga to the UK.

Diego Costa, Hector Bellerin, David Silva, Santi Cazorla, David de Gea, Juan Mata and Cesc Fabregas are some of the best known Spanish players currently plying their trade in the EPL.

More from Premier League

New Arsenal striker Lucas Perez joins this growing contingent after making a name for himself last season with Deportivo La Coruña.

Newly promoted Middlesbrough have two high-profile Spanish players. Former Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo is back in England and looking to relaunch his career.  Then there’s former Barcelona number one keeper Victor Valdes. After a year to forget, mostly on Manchester United’s bench, he is in a position to become a valuable asset for Middlesbrough.
