GK: Wojciech Szczesny

Wednesday wasn’t a great day for Wojciech Szczesny, allowing 2 goals for just the 3rd time this season, but it seems unlikely we’ll see a repeat of that performance against Torino. Their attack has struggled greatly throughout the season, averaging just over 1 goal per match. The match on Saturday should look like most of Juve’s matches this season with Szczesny having very little to do throughout the day.

CB: Giorgio Chiellini

We saw once again how badly Juventus needs their captain to start every match. Over the last 5 matches Giorgio Chiellini has missed Juventus has allowed 5 goals while they have only allowed 3 goals over the last 3 months when Chiellini has started. Even at age 34 Chiellini has been at his absolute best this season. He was particularly impressive in his last start when he completely shut down Mauro Icardi and kept Inter from ever looking like a real scoring threat. After the debacle on Wednesday, Juve will be thrilled to have their leader back.

CB: Leonardo Bonucci

Leonardo Bonucci has been a major disappointment in his return to Juventus. He has looked shaky for long stretches of this season and that isn’t something that changed on Wednesday when he got torched on a Young Boys breakaway. I think it’s time for Medhi benatia to be given a fair shot at this starting spot, but his injury will prevent him from making an appearance here. Juve gave up a lot to make bringing Bonucci back a possibility. He’ll need to start playing much better to make his return worth those sacrifices.
