LB: Alex Sandro 7.5/10

Before the match, I said one of the things Juve needed to do to win was for their full backs to take space away from Milan’s attack out on the wings. Alex Sandro did a great job of closing down that space, limiting Milan to contested crosses that didn’t give Juve much trouble or crosses from higher up the pitch that also didn’t result in much. He also managed to occasionally get involved in the attack in this match. It was a solid day for Sandro.

CB: Leonardo Bonucci 7/10

This was another strong performance from Leonardo Bonucci where he kept the back line organized and mostly prevented Milan from getting any chances that were too dangerous. His play helped negate the poor start from the midfield. He also helped keep Krzyzstof Piatek from becoming too much of a threat. Juve’s captain continues his resurgent season.

CB: Matthijs de Ligt 7/10

Matthijs de Ligt seems to have put his early season jitters behind him. This is now the 3rd straight match where there are only positive things to say about de Ligt and he definitely helped Juve keep this clean sheet. Now he’ll get to build his confidence even more with a couple of weeks playing for the Dutch national team before hopefully continuing his strong play for Juve.

RB: Juan Cuadrado 7/10

You can pretty much say the same things about Juan Cuadrado as Alex Sandro in this match. The only difference is he was a little bit more involved in the attack, as expected. Juve didn’t use him to punish Milan when Theo Hernandez played too far forward as I had hoped they would, but that didn’t stop him from having an effective match. Hopefully Juve remembers this after the international break and doesn’t try to force Danilo back into the starting right back spot.
