CM: Adrien Rabiot

Saturday’s disappointment really put a damper on the previous success of Juve’s new midfield combination, but it shouldn’t stop Maurizio Sarri from continuing to use the group that had been finding success recently. That means that Adrien Rabiot should still be used in the starting lineup here to give Juve their best chance of getting an away win in the first leg of the Coppa semis. Hopefully Rabiot can take advantage of the opportunity and remind Sarri why he’s clearly a better choice than Blaise Matuidi for the starting lineup.

CM: Miralem Pjanic

I’m beginning to give up hope that Miralem Panic is ever going to be more than the player we’ve seen struggle to influence matches over the last couple of years. We have seen no signs that Maurizio Sarri is going to be able to get anything more out of him and his performances haven’t been all that inspiring throughout this season. Hopefully he has something else left to give, but I’m just about ready for Juve to start throwing money at Brescia for Sandro Tonali.

CM: Rodrigo Bentancur

Even when Juventus has played poorly, Rodrigo Bentancur has still managed to stand out in their midfield. Agaisnt Verona, he was able to supply his 2nd assist in 4 appearances in spite of the midfield’s struggles. He has also scored a goal of his own during that stretch and he has convinced me during his recent run that he just might be the best midfielder Juve has right now. Another impressive performance on Thursday would just serve to solidify how important he is to this squad now and in the future.
