Chelsea get the job done against Bournemouth

Chelsea put an end to their recent slump in form with a 2-1 victory over Tottenham this weekend. This victory enabled the Blues to stay three points ahead of Manchester United, and they have a good shot of maintaining their slight cushion when they take on 16th place Bournemouth.

The Cherries are flirting with relegation. Their head is above water at the moment because Aston Villa and West Ham keep losing. Having lost 3-0 to Burnley, Bournemouth’s confidence has taken a major hit, and it will show on the pitch when Chelsea show up with momentum on their side.

Bournemouth did stun Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier this season and Frank Lampard will surely remind his players of that result. Eddie Howe’s side can be a scrappy bunch at home, but Chelsea have too much talent up top to break them down and claim three points.

Prediction: Bournemouth 0-2 Chelsea

Brighton finally claim three points

Brighton have only lost once in their last five games, but they have not claimed any victories during that time either. Having drawn three consecutive games against West Ham, Watford and Sheffield United, Brighton will look to potentially move seven points clear of the drop zone with a win on Saturday.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, managed to defeat Newcastle United over the weekend, but they only scored one goal despite creating 18 chances. The Eagles are the joint-lowest scoring team in the Premier League, so a minimal victory at home will not do much for their confidence.

Crystal Palace struggle against teams that apply pressure and are aggressive in midfield. Seeing that this game is one of England’s infamous derbies, fans should expect to see a tight battle, but Brighton are more creative offensively and they will find a way through.

Prediction: Brighton 1-0 Crystal Palace
