Each of the last three meetings between these two clubs have produced draws, while Roma have not beaten Juventus in Turin in front of supporters since 2011.

The duo's last six encounters have produced a miserly eight goals in total.

Juventus vs Roma preview

With Serie A's top three all in Saudi Arabia for the Supercoppa this weekend, it is left to the teams in fourth and fifth to try and assert themselves as Scudetto candidates on Saturday night.

Of the two, it is visitors Roma who are one place and four points better off, knowing that a victory in Turin would see them join leaders Internazionale on 33 points. Back on Monday night, Gian Piero Gasperini's side got back to winning ways, beating high-flying Como 1-0 at the Olimpico, with Wesley the night's only scorer, his strike settling the match on the hour mark.

Before this, the Giallorossi's title dreams had been dented by back-to-back 1-0 defeats, beaten by both champions Napoli in the Derby del Sole and then when they took on Cagliari in Sardinia. All five of Roma's Serie A loses this season have been by the same 1-0 scoreline, and they are yet to claim a victory over a fellow contender, defeated by Inter, AC Milan and most-recently Napoli. So now, can the Giallorossi pick up three precious points come Saturday night?

As for Juventus, after sacking Igor Tudor in October, new boss Luciano Spalletti suffered his first defeat in charge a fortnight ago, beaten 2-1 by former side Napoli at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Since then though, la Vecchia Signora have responded with back-to-back victories, beating Pafos 2-0 in the Champions League, before a hard-fought 1-0 win over Bologna last Sunday night. Juan Cabal the match-winner at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

This though was only Juventus' fourth victory in 12 Serie A matches, hence why they are fifth, more in a Champions League battle than a title race. These two sides are the lowest-scorers of the top six, with Roma having netted just 16 times in 15 matches, while the Bianconeri have only three more goals to their name. Thus, don't expect a goal-fest, but this Saturday night fixture is crucial for both.

So, fit again Bremer could come into defence, starting for the first time since September due to a muscular injury, with American Weston McKennie filling in as the right-wing-back. Lloyd Kelly and Manuel Locatelli would sit out next weekend's visit to Pisa if cautioned.

Juventus predicted lineup vs Roma: (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Bremer, Kalulu, Kelly; McKennie, Thuram, Locatelli, Cambiaso; Conceição, Yıldız, David.

Juventus player to watch vs Roma

Kenan Yıldız continues to be Juventus' talisman, having scored six times so far this season, so can he find the Roma net for the very first time?

Roma team news

So, Gian Piero Gasperini is expected to recall Jan Ziółkowski into defence, while he has plenty of options in attack, including Evan Ferguson, who netted twice at Celtic Park nine nights ago.

Both Bryan Cristante and Wesley would miss the clash with Genoa next Monday if cautioned.

Roma predicted lineup vs Juventus: (3-4-2-1-): Svillar; Mancini, Hermoso, Ziółkowski; Wesley, Koné, Cristante, Angeliño; Soulé, Dybala, Ferguson.

Roma player to watch vs Juventus

Paulo Dybala scored 115 times for Juventus, a tally only bettered by eight men in the club's entire history, of which only Alessandro Del Piero (290) and David Trézéguet (171) have done so in the past four decades. The Argentine has never scored in nine games against Juve, either for Palermo or now Roma, but can he change that fact he he returns to Turin?

Juventus vs Roma prediction

As already noted, this game will almost certainly not be a goal-fest, and we cannot split the two sides, hence why a draw, that does not really satisfy either, is the most-likely outcome: Juventus 1-1 Roma.
