Chelsea could see major stars sold in January

Chelsea fans expected major changes to the squad when Antonio Conte came on board. The summer transfer window provided some roster turnover, but not nearly as much as most expected. Look for January to be an active window for Conte and the Blues.

Predictably, much of the speculation about Chelsea’s winter window will center around what players Conte wants to bring to Stamford Bridge. In my estimation, the players who might leave the club are every bit as interesting.

It’s not as if Chelsea are short on big name players. It’s a safe assumption that if a group of players are sold in January, it’ll include at least one or two household names. They don’t have a lot of anonymous fringe to offload.

That’s why no big-name Chelsea players should be getting too comfortable under Conte. He isn’t going to hesitate to sell any player that doesn’t completely conform to his idea of what the club should be. That could put these five Chelsea stars at risk once the winter transfer window opens.
